Officials in Daikundi province say that nine people died and nine others were injured in a serious traffic accident in Miramor district on Saturday, October 29. The accident occurred when a van overturned on a hazardous road, “The passengers were all residents of Nika Ashto village, who were on their way home from the center of Miramor district after receiving help from a charity organization,” Ishaq Ali Rashidi, the traffic director of Daikundi Province, tells Zan Times.
The condition of some of the injured is critical, he adds.
Rashidi explains that the cause of the accident was a bad road and the large number of passengers in the vehicle.
A source from the Daikundi Provincial Hospital also says that another four people were injured in yet another accident in the province, this time in Zojok village. The rough state of the roads and their narrowness cause frequent traffic accidents in this province.
