A landmine that was reportedly planted in a pot by the side of a road exploded just as a van carrying civil servants passed by in Kabul on Saturday, residents tell Zan Times. At least five people were injured, including one passer-by.

Abdul Wali, an eyewitness to the bombing, tells Zan Times that the landmine went off at around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. According to this witness, the incident happened in the Police District 5 district of Kabul city.

Khalid Zadran, the spokesman of the Taliban police in Kabul, confirmed in a tweet that the explosion occurred, but said that three people were injured in the explosion.

This is the fifth explosion that has occurred in Kabul in the past week. Before today’s bombing, two other explosions took place in the Panjsad Famili and Baghbala areas though no casualties were reported. Two were killed and 18 injured in another explosion at the mosque of the Ministry of Interior.

The biggest terrorist attack targeted an educational centre that killed 56 students and injured more than 110 on Friday, September 30.
