Local sources from Abdullah Khel village of Dara district of Panjshir province say that the Taliban have killed a young woman and taken 50 residents hostage after a battle in the village between them and the National Front.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a Abdullah Khel resident told Zan Times, “In an ambush of the National Resistance Front on the Taliban posts in this village on Monday, the Taliban took shelter in residential houses.”

This source adds, after abandoning their posts, the Taliban took refuge in residential houses in the village and killed a young woman, while using her house as a defensive position.

He says that this girl’s name was Farhanaz, 20, and was preparing to start university.

Another resident said that, on Tuesday morning, the Taliban took 50 men and children from Abdullah Khel village hostage and kept them in the Pasgaran village.

He said, ”All fifty people are civilians and were dragged from their homes and imprisoned in a funeral house in Pasgaran village.”

The National Resistance Front claim they have taken more than 10 Taliban checkpoints and then captured 50 Taliban gunmen as prisoners.

It is reported that the Taliban have demanded the release of their imprisoned soldiers from the National Resistance Front in exchange for the release of the hostages.
